Reflecting on 2024: Annual Report

As we reflect on 2024, it is with immense pride and gratitude that we acknowledge the collective effort that has gone into protecting painted dogs and the broader ecosystem they inhabit. This year’s successes were not achieved in isolation but through the unwavering dedication of our team, whose commitment and resilience remain the backbone of our conservation efforts. Our scouts, researchers, educators, and support staff have worked tirelessly to ensure that every patrol, every school visit, and every data point collected contributes to a brighter future for these painted dogs.

PDC First Quarter Update 2024

It has been yet another eventful first quarter of the year on the frontline of conservation. With your support, we invested in ongoing refresher training for our Anti-Poaching Unit and maintained a strong presence on the ground. Our education programs, including the Iganyana Children's Bush Camp, continue to foster a culture of conservation. While our research efforts have faced challenges, we have made progress in monitoring and protecting painted dog packs. Additionally, we helped empower local communities to address human-wildlife conflict and promote sustainable coexistence.

PDC Annual Report 2023

2023 was a year when we really saw the impact of the work we have undertaken during the past 25+ years. For the first time ever we have seen three if not five packs of painted dogs utilising the buffer zone in our core operating area. Three packs denned in the area and we deployed the full extent of our resources to try and protect them, which was successful on the whole but not without tragedy.
